Description

Bacopa caroliniana is a stem aquarium plant native to North America. Easy to grow and undemanding, it is perfectly suited to beginner aquarists as well as aquascapers looking for a hardy green plant.

Its upright stems bear thick, rounded leaves of a bright green. With sufficiently intense lighting, the tips can take on slight coppery hues. Its moderate growth makes it easy to maintain and allows a dense group of plants to be created quickly.

Characteristics:

• Difficulty: easy
• Type: stem plant
• Placement: middle or background
• Height: about 20 to 30 cm and more
• Growth: moderate
• Lighting: low to medium, ideally medium
• CO₂ supply: optional, but beneficial
• Origin: North America
• Cultivation: in vitro Tropica 1-2-Grow!

Advantages of in vitro cultivation:

• Plant grown in a laboratory
• Free of algae, snails or parasites
• Free of pesticides harmful to the aquarium
• Suited to aquariums with shrimp and sensitive fish
• One portion can be divided into several small bunches

Planting tips:

Gently remove the plant from the pot, then carefully rinse off the nutrient gel with clean water. Divide it into several small portions and plant the stems in the substrate with a few centimetres of spacing.

To obtain a dense stand, group several portions in the middle or background of the aquarium. The cut stems can be replanted to easily propagate the plant.
