Roots & Wood

Roots and wood bring a natural and authentic dimension to an aquarium's layout. Their unique shapes make it possible to structure the space, create shaded zones and provide hiding places appreciated by many fish and shrimp.

The Roots & wood category brings together various natural elements for planted aquariums, biotopes and aquascaping. They can serve as a support for mosses, Anubias, Bucephalandra and other epiphytic plants that attach directly to the hardscape.

Before being introduced, the roots must be rinsed and prepared according to their nature. Some may float during the first few days and require a period of soaking. They can also release tannins that temporarily tint the water an amber hue. This natural phenomenon is generally harmless and may even be sought after in certain biotope aquariums.

Alchimia Aquatics offers you a selection of roots and wood for aquariums, allowing you to create harmonious, functional and fully personalised layouts.
